The lord Mahavira gave the five principles for inner purity and peaceful life. The first one is Non-Violence (Ahimsa). According to his principle, people should live in brotherhood and harmony. They should not kill anybody even if any living creatures. The truth was his second principle. Mahavira told that people should never tell a lie. The truth is an ultimate Virtue. It increases the mutual understanding and trust in human relationships. According to the next principle, people should live below the mince. The principle is known as Asteya. Asteya tends to live in moderation. The next principle is Brahmacharya. It is an ultimate form of purity and chastity. One should have full control over their sexual desires and related to these all. If you get easily aroused and you have no control over your feelings you are not practicing Brahmacharya.
The third principle is Asteya. People who follow Asteya do not steal from others. These individuals live in moderation and only take what they are given. The fourth principle is brahmacharya. This principle requires Jains to exhibit traits of chastity; they must not excessively participate in sensual acts. The last principle is Aparigraha which keeps you isolated from all sins. You become more conscious and keep yourself in control gestures.
These five principles of the Jain religion are of uttermost significance so Mahavira Jayanti is celebrated all over India.
